For patients
First visit
How to prepare, what happens during the consultation and what you receive afterwards.

The consultation
- 0–15 min
History
When the shedding started, illnesses, medicines and supplements, diet, hair care, family history.
- 15–30 min
Examination
We examine the scalp and hair, do a pull test and assess density.
- 30–45 min
Trichoscopy
A magnified examination of the scalp, with photos saved to your medical records.
- 45–60 min
Plan
We discuss the findings, any tests needed, recommendations and — where indicated — a prescription.
A follow-up visit usually after 3–4 months — that is how long it takes for changes in the hair cycle to show on trichoscopy.
What to bring
- an identity document (details for your medical records),
- test results from the last 6 months, if you have them — on paper or on your phone,
- a list of medicines and supplements you take, with doses,
- records of any previous treatment of your scalp or hair,
- if you have them — photos of your hair from a few months or years ago, for comparison.
Before trichoscopy
- wash your hair a day or two before the visit, not on the day,
- do not use hairspray, mousse or oils on the day of the visit,
- if possible, do not dye your hair in the 2 weeks before,
- do not stop any treatment without asking the doctor who prescribed it.
If you cannot follow one of these, come anyway and tell us at the start of the visit.
